Dr. Earl G. Bagley talks about his experiences growing up in a mill village in LaGrange, Ga. during the 1940s and 1950s. He discusses mill village housing, the community center, schools, mill baseball teams, conditions inside the mill, and the various mill jobs he worked as a teenager.

Dr. Earl G. Bagley grew up in the Dixie Mill village of LaGrange, Ga. His father worked his way through various positions in the mill, rising to the position of plant manager. Although he worked part-time in the mill as a teenager, Dr. Bagley's father steered him away from a career in the mills.
